How to design a web site on a Mac?
Author: admin
Hello, I am a Mac user and I am starting a web site. What are the appropriate tools to create, design and develop websites on a Mac?
If you are running Mac OS 10.5 Leopard, it comes preinstalled with iLife ‘08, which includes iWeb, a simple to use, decent web designing tool. If you don’t have OS 10.5, try searching for iWeb in Spotlight or Finder. something should show up unless you don’t have iLife on your Mac. Also, you could use Dreamweaver CS3 from Adobe for Mac for serious web developing.

Is it possible to design a web site in Dreamweaver and write coding in Visudio Studio 2005? I perfer to use Dreamweaver for design as I am comfortable with it. For me, VS 2005 is a perfect tool to code a program. Can I design a site in Dreamweaver and import them to Visual Studio? Is there any problem if I develope web site that way? Thank you for your help.
Absolutely, that’s exactly how I do ASP.NET sites: Get the design together in DreamWeaver, do the code in VS.
If you are going to use master pages / themes, there will be some reconstruction of the proper files between the two programs, but it works fine.
How to change text language in properties on a web page?

go up to the gray bar thats under ur web address click view
go down to encoding go over and click more.
Is this possible?
If you can copy the html from webs.com page you make and paste it to Microsoft one, then the answer is yes. Any images or other files that go with the page must also be uploaded to the MS site.
Could just make your pages on your computer and upload to MS directly.

Blog Tools for Web Design?
Author: admin
I am building a php and mysql website for a class, I plan on using this site in the future and want to go a little above and beyond and create a blog. I talked to a few IT guys the other day and they gave me the name of a few pieces of software that could fill my needs, but with finals and studying, I forgot what they were called.
The idea is that these tools allowed me to create the blog post, store the text in a database, store photographs in a folder on the web server, and I would be able to output both of these with the pictures throughout the text (basically already formatted how I like it). I need to just provide my code for the web page that surrounds the article/blog (blog contains just the text and pictures appropriately located)
Any ideas of free software that would allow me to do this would be appreciated
I will answer any questions if this is not clear

I know dreamweaver is a handy web design tool, but is there any disadvantage to use it, for example, get some bad habits or limit creative to web designer? If I want to be professional web designer, Do I need write html and css in notepad for some time or directly use Dreamweaver?
DW is a powerful web design tool, but should never be considered by a "professional".
- It creates a code that is cluttered with inadequate tags and arguments;
- It usually develops a site for one given browser and one resolution;
- It never solve all browser’s incompatibilities; (Never found a DW site working on the 5 main browsers!)
- It is barely capable of dealing with any kind of interactivity (server-side scripts and AJAX)
- It prevents the coder from learning how to code properly.
In other words, you learn to design a site, but not how to develop it, and the coding is very hard to maintain (as it has no "meanings").
Some consider it useful to set-up the base of their website "to save time", then adapt the code by hand. I disagree! A good set of images created in Photoshop, and one set of HTML, CSS, javascript and php basics, together with an AJAX framework, allows me to set-up any website in a few hours and in a very professional manner.
My tools: Photoshop and Notepad++ (and many years of experience).
Which free web design tool is good for beginners?

I have some experience in web design and I would like to learn more. When I install it on my lap top, I will only practice on it, I don’t have intentions to publish contents on the net. And are there some specific requirements for that tool?
You need to install Microsoft Office Publisher 2007 and newer which give you a Feature Website Wizard In which you Can make your Website really, and This is Valuable for Beginner I also Used It.
